About

Hey there!

I'm the McLeod Girl.

I am not fashion forward, I am neither fashion backward ... I'm just Fashion Awkward.

Hence, this place. To blog about the struggles, victories and headfalls...to understand fashion, the trends and such, all the while trying to look decently smart enough without burning a hole in my pocket. Accepting that when it comes to fashion and style, I am awkward, but I enjoy the learning process.

And I want this space to be a platform for all those who feel the same.

Let me make it clear, I'm no fashionista. Or a fashion student or fashion-anything. I have no  taste authority in this field at all. What I express here is just my perspective, ideas and opinions.

More:

# i can't tell brands apart. I have no idea how a Prada is different from a Gucci or a Chanel; neither do I suffer a convulsion on spotting Jimmy Choos

# i enjoy reading fashion blogs. I like how the barbie-d girls play with their wardrobe, wear imported dresses and have those shoes and bags from the costliest posh-est brands of the world

I want to, but I fail to understand how I can be like them cos - (1) I can't afford 95% of the items in their wardrobe (2) Even if I got the money, I can't walk on the streets like that, esp. in my city

and (3) That's not ME. I have to figure out my personal style

# i don't 'hang out' at malls. My favourite hangout spot is at home - with my mom

# i am 5'8" tall. No heels. Ok 1.2 inches max. Period.

# i am a born tomboy trying to get in touch with my feminine side. I fail, mostly. But I keep trying

# i strongly believe sexy-ness is not directly proportional to the amount of skin-show. You can be fully clothed and still look sexy. Keep patience with me till I figure out how

# i LOVE free goodies; and cheap goodies; and Bargain!

# i do not fancy brands. Neither do I fancy advertising brand logos on my dresses. My only two criteria for a purchase is quality and need - It can be high-end or a street-side vendor

# i do not have a boyfriend or husband who would pamper me silly with all the luxurious shopping trips

# i believe in dressing according to the occasion AND location.

I got interested in all things fashion not so much for the brand craze but the belief that fashion is an art. And how you create that art every day, is a major reflection of your individuality; and this perspective interests me. Here on this blog, I'd share not just my own Outfits, but also new things that I learn about clothing, how we can incorporate the trends into our wardrobes, ideas and DIY projects, and also inspiration and individualistic expression of style from wherever and whenever I find'em.

Always-
Look good. Feel great!

Love,
M
